I am trying to understand whether DrNB is considered equivalent to MCh in India, especially from the perspective of career opportunities after completing the qualification.
I have come across different opinions while researching MCh vs DrNB. Some people say both provide super-speciality training, while others suggest that there can still be differences depending on the speciality, institute, and career path.
My main concern is whether a DrNB-qualified doctor can compete for the same consultant positions as an MCh-qualified doctor. I am also interested in knowing how private hospitals, government institutions, and academic organisations generally view these qualifications.
Does the institute where DrNB training is completed make a significant difference? For example, should a candidate give more importance to the hospital's case volume, faculty, infrastructure, and clinical exposure rather than simply choosing between MCh and DrNB?
I would also like to understand whether there are any differences in teaching or academic opportunities after completing DrNB compared with MCh.
Doctors who have completed either qualification, or are currently pursuing one, please share your experience. I am looking for practical information about DrNB vs MCh recognition and career opportunities rather than just theoretical comparisons.
